The A&E Yacht maintenance Robot that is used exclusively with Supernavi products and works in partnership with the Boero company demonstated it's clear added value on the Seatec show in Carara. The reference event for the marine industry, Seatec brings together quality companies and is the ideal venue for presenting products and innovation, events and international competitions. This is the case of the Qualitec Technology Award, an award for innovative technology, set up to award and promote technology innovation put forward and presented by companies exhibiting at Seatec, the seventh International exhibition for technology, supplies and design for boats, yachts and ships. The Robot is able to sand all applied filler and highbuild primers as well as the alumunium surface.
A high profile jury examined the projects for 2009’s competition composed of Paolo Scifoni (chairman), Giampiero Audino and Paolo Colombo who, after examining a really remarkable series of products on show, assigned first place to the company A&E Yacht Services based in Viareggio for IMR 1.0, an actual system for the robotic application of complete filling and topcoat cycles on super yacht hulls that, according to the official motivation, is a significant step ahead in many areas such as the pre-calculation of the quantities of filler necessary, continuous applications over longer periods of time and so lower overall time as well as a significant reduction of accident risks related to work high up on scaffolding, with a significant reduction of dust dispersed in the environment. The “robot” carries out the application of the various coats and the milling of each coat so as to carry out the established cycles with an accuracy that is not possible by traditional methods at a lower overall cost compared to traditional methods.

The MYBA Charter Show (5 to 9 May) has been, also this year, a very interesting 5 day exhibition for the professionals of the luxury recreational sailing sector. The numerous participating events and the splendid location in the Porto Antico (Ancient Harbour) of Genoa are enviable added value. The event was a very good opportunity for the service and product suppliers, and of course the brokers, to meet up directly with the captains of the superyachts. During the Midday break, captains and crew were receiving brokers on board for lunch to present the possibilities for potential clients. During the morning or the afternoon, the suppliers could visit each of the 65 super and mega yachts and introduce themselves; which is the primary thing to do at the exhibition, since the show is off limits for the general public.. This in contrast to the Genoa Boat Show, (maybe a little too selective, regarding the 1 hour of queuing for the first day registering) .
