The last Superyacht of Mulder Yachts in Voorschoten, Holland was directly also the first yacht ever to be sprayed with Challenger HS in an electrostatic manner. The results however were outstanding judged by the painters, Dirk Kinkel and Cor Kuipers and the shipyard. The arguments for using this way of application are simple. The loss of paint can almost be neglected. The amount of paint applied in one coat is very high, so it should normally be enough to only apply one coat. This safes time and prevents that you need to move the spraying equipment ( tubes ) up and down the gangways. It also prevents overspray. The use of electrostatic spray equipment is not new, but the results have always been less then in the conventional way. This seems a thing of the past if we review the current results. More and more applicators and shipyards see the advantage of this type of appication.
